JULY 2005
THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Beloved
Partners & Friends
In a little room that
can hardly be called a chapel with white washed walls, no windows and rush
mats for a ceiling, something phenomenal is happening. The Holy Spirit has,
over several years, been molding the workers of Kalibu into one mind and one
purpose in this one little place. Some are the educated administrative staff
whilst others are cooks and yet others are totally uneducated truck hands
who know only how to change wheels and direct the truck whilst reversing.
There are pastors, students, women, men, white and black all crammed into a
space a little larger than an office. Outside, each knows his place, his
position and his limitations. But, once they enter the doorways of this
little "chapel" there is absolutely no division on labour, social strata,
race consideration, economic basis or education. There is a unity that is
too glorious to behold and from the moment the praise begins, one is lifted
into the heavens. It is impossible to adequately describe the exuberance,
the joy, the fire and the power with which these men and women worship.
Shouting, whistling, humming, harmonizing or singing as if it were a choir
of a thousand strong, the presence of the Lord is so real that it is almost
tangible.
Each service is different but the blessed Holy Spirit visits with His glorious unction. Sometimes it is a couple of hours of just speaking and shouting and declaring His majesty. Other days it might be all singing and dancing. Then, there are times of absolute silence that might last up to an hour where the Lord melts and undoes hearts. However HE chooses to appear is His prerogative. The gathered simply obey and go with the flow. He, the Holy Spirit, is poising to do something great and wonderful. Revival is in the air and it is certainly evident in the enthusiasm that is infectious.
Those whose lives are
not in order are caught into the convicting flow of His unseen wave. Sobbing,
real gut rending sobbing, breaks out from one and another. Some individuals
launch into true travail of intercession. The glorious fact is that they are too
uneducated to even know the word, "intercession," but carried by the Holy Spirit
they are fully involved in intercession. There are times when the presence of
the Holy Spirit just causes a river of tears to flow from many eyes. There is no
crying out in anguish but just a flow of tears and for no apparent reason. There
does not have to be a reason in God's presence. Heaven has stooped to touch this
little piece of earth. The supernatural is gracing the natural. The mighty arm
of God is turning the hand of flesh and nothing created may glory in His Divine
presence.
Is this what the day
of Pentecost must have been like? In that room, all are one and are focused
on one passion and that is to touch the Lord. Nobody has any agendas but the
Lord and His purposes. These are ordinary people graced with the Divine.
There are a couple of
songs that are anointed for His glory. These simple choruses are repeated
over and over and with each replay, the intensity of the anointing increases
and the presence of the Lord becomes more real. At times the African
harmonizing sounds as one single voice to the extent that one feels as if he
has been lifted clear into heaven and is tasting of the corporate worship of
the untold number around His throne. A price has certainly been paid to
reach this point. Such things don't simply happen. Death has come and in death there is
life. Naturally people are asking, "where is this going?" Right now, I do
not really care. We are here for His glory and His pleasure and that is all
that matters.
There is coming a vast
change in the church. We are going to see a move of the blessed Holy Spirit
across the earth in these days and it is going to begin in just such small,
unknown and insignificant "chapels" behind and run down rented house that is
Kalibu Ministries Headquarters.
It is our plea that the Lord intensifies His work and it is all for
Him.
BICYCLE DISTRIBUTION, CHURCH ROOFING, MAIZE SHORTAGE
Since Kalibu Ministries embarked
this year on a programme to buy ten bicycles every other month for the
pastors and evangelists in the remote parts of Malawi and Mozambique so as
to facilitate their Ministry work, there has been great success registered
in reaching the Gospel of Christ to the unreached. These remote areas are
often neglected by the governments to the extent that transport and
communication always remains a big hindrance to any activity in these areas.
Roads are literally impassable during certain seasons of the
year and generally all infrastructures are not to standard. Since this
programme stared in March this year,
twenty pastors have received brand new bicycles to facilitate their ministry
work.
Not only that, there is also a programme to roof a church which can seat at least two hundred fifty people every other month. So far a church has been roofed and another is due to be rooed this month. The pastors and evangelists are really happy to send their blessings and thanks to all the supporters of the Ministry and the management in supporting their work for the Kingdom of God.
(Ed
note) $600 a month is sent to
Malawi in addition to support and anything required for building or
emergencies. This is used one
month to purchase 10 bicycles and the following month to roof a church. If anyone would like to donate to these
project please send donation marked for this purpose. Many thanks.
The drought that hit Malawi this
year has resulted in a poor yield of all crops and in the main staple food
crop, maize, in particular.
This has led to the drastic shortage of grain and flour in all markets and
stores countrywide.
The government of Malawi has
embarked on importing maize from abroad to feed her ten million citizens and
has urged the humanitarian aid organizations to donate more food aid to the
country to supplement the crop. The worst affected as always is the rural
masses who are entirely dependant on their small pieces of land for self
preservation. There is severe starvation in the villages and especially
amongst children. As a result of the looming famine,
Kalibu Ministries has doubled the maize supply for feeding the two hundred
workers in the school construction project and at the mission headquarters.
In addition, we have urged our pastors and their congregations to intercede
for the Almighty’s intervention in this critical situation which man alone
can not solve. We ask that you
join with us in prayer.
PURCHASE OF BICYCLES
PURCHASE OF MAIZE/CORN
Church in Nsanje District -Malawi due to be roofed this month NCHALO CRUSADE - MALAWI
The Nchalo crusade in Chikwawa
district-Malawi was held from17th to 19th June 2005. God’s presence and
mighty power was experienced as His vessels filled with the Holy Ghost boldly
preached and taught with fire and authority from the Lord. People turned out in large numbers to
hear the precious message that was followed by signs and wonders. It was such an amazing time for Kalibu
members and the congregation at large. Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke to his people
through Pastor Christopher Navaya on the first day. The theme of the first day was “Unity in the
Body of Christ.” He emphasized that unless the Spirit of
God joins us together as one Body in Christ we can not build the Kingdom of God
as it should be built.
Pastor Navaya
encouraged the youth and urged them to fulfill their promise with enthusiasm
according to the book of Joel 2:28. He finally urged the youth to put
themselves right with God by denouncing the pleasures of this world and
satan for they will surely experience the authority and power of God as they
follow Him and seek to do His will.
After the preaching,
a huge number came forth to receive Jesus as their personal Saviour, the
sick and possessed also came forward for laying of hands.
There was a mighty move of the power of God in the crusade experienced by
the healing of the sick and deliverance from demonic spirits.
On the second day the
youth meeting was chaired by Brother Vekka Yrol and facilitated by Marcus
Wirth and Jonas, all from Finland and attending the Bible school in Malawi. Among other things, they shared with the
youth of Malawi praise, worship and most importantly the Word of God. The
youth really felt blessed to
interact freely with the Finnish brothers and share their views and ideas
about God. They appreciated the meeting and requested the mission
administration for more meetings to be organized in the future for their
spiritual growth.
The women’s meeting
was chaired by our missionary and supporter Sister Dougale from Lithuania. She taught the Malawi women about
marriage and family harmony between a husband, a wife and children and also
on how a woman can be successful in life. She based her lesson on the book
of Proverbs 31:10-31. It was an
interactive meeting as the women posed different questions on marriage and
family on a Christian perspective but inspired and filled with the Holy
Ghost, Sister Dougale correctly answered all the questions raised to the
women’s satisfaction on Biblical context.
She also laid hands on the sick and possessed as Jesus commanded his
disciples and consequently there was instant healing and deliverance.
The leadership
seminar was chaired by Pastor Frank Van Dyck.
God used Pastor Frank to impart into these church leaders the Biblical
managerial and leadership skills. He urged these leaders to allow the Holy
Spirit to use them and do the work of God according to God’s order and ways
but not according to what they think or wish. He warned the Pastors and
elders that when the Holy Spirit decides to move, nothing can ever stop Him. He further emphasized that God is
looking for believers whom He will visit and use so we should be ready to
welcome Him and allow Him to use us as the results will always be excellent
and we shall have the heavenly reward.
He emphasized that the Holy Spirit should be the only one to drive our
lives, churches and ministries.
The Crusade was
finally closed by a Sunday service where Pastor Paisley Mavutula preached
and encouraged all who have come for the crusade to take all the teachings
they have received in the meetings seriously and allow them to impact their
lives.
