JUNE 2005

Beloved Partners and Friends

The Centurion said, “Speak the Word only…” The prophetic word is the anointed word of the Lord that comes forth from a vessel that has been in TABERNACLE with the Lord.  The anointed word has substance that causes it to work in the depths of our beings because it is the PERTINENT or accurately working WORD of the Lord directly from His throne into our very lives.  That PERTINENT WORD cuts deeply, brings changes and establishes new ORDER in the believer allowing the Lord to supremely bless and prosper his life.  THIS PROPHETIC WORD IS A MIRACULOUS WORD that transcends natural limitations.  It is so accurate, such a “Rhema” word that it will be absolutely believed above the next breath that I breathe.  How is that for assurance and how seldom we ever experience such?  The PERTINENT word changes the DESTINY of entire nations and it is this word and this word alone that every intercessor MUST receive or he is no intercessor at all.  Most Christians want a “man of God” to lay hands on them and give a personal prophecy.  The pertinent or prophetically anointed word goes way beyond personal prophecy for it is based on the ABSOLUTE unchanging WORD of the LORD.  Personal prophecy is often mixture – it mixes human emotion and reason with a word of wisdom or knowledge unless delivered by a very sound servant of servants.  The reason why people enjoy personal prophecy is because it really makes them unaccountable and in a sense irresponsible.  The PERTINENT WORD is a word that we must obey and allow to work within us to change us through obedience to it.  The Lord’s word upon which the prophetic word is based is a deeply piercing, scrutinizing word that convicts and washes.  When the prophetic or anointed word of God directly from His alter has been preached, there is always that convicting presence and silence of the Lord as the Spirit deals with the deepest recesses of our lives.  He expects us to RESPOND and this is where the vast majority of Christians fail.  They either have no idea how to respond or are simply too lazy or bound to do so.  A personal prophecy does not ever carry the same weight as the prophetic word preached under incredible anointing.  Actually, personal prayer and prophecy DETRACTS from the preached PROPHETIC WORD and neutralizes it.

Personal prophesy has been opened to such abuse by both the one uttering such and the one receiving it. Despite the power of the truly anointed Word, people would rather have a personal prophecy.  I am not against such but I have watched over and over as people line up for personal prophecies and in so doing, destroy the working of the Holy Spirit as He moved on the anointed, PERTINENT word that was preached under the order and authority of the Lord.  It is for this reason that I must be CLEARLY directed of the Holy Spirit to pray and prophesy after preaching.  Many believers get upset when a preacher does not pray or prophesy thinking that they have been “cheated” of a right.  Yet, they fail to realize and understand that the anointed preaching of an anointed servant is far more important and carries far more spiritual weight and power to absolutely CHANGE lives forever than a personal prophesy.  All too often too, people are called for prayer that relates directly to the “Rhema” word preached.  Usually, only a few people ever come forward.  The moment, however that the congregation hears the first personal prophesy, there is a general stampede to “get a word.”  This is hypocritical and farcical and most certainly ushers and deacons should be trained to stop people coming forward after the final appeal of the preacher and before he begins to pray.  The truly anointed WORD works mightily within for it is endorsed by the blessed Holy Spirit.  It is that WORD that is sharper than a two-edged sword and that word to which believers ought really to respond.

 LITHUANIA

The following is a report received from our representatives in Lithuania.

“Dear Pastor Michael!

I feel the incredible love of our Heavenly Father when am writing to you.  It is so wonderful!

We had a seminar of intercessors of Lithuania. This time about 60 people have come from different cities and towns. All were so thirsty and hungry for the fresh word and move of the Holy Spirit. I made it very clear that our vision is to have intercession groups in each city and village and town that all Lithuania would be ''covered'' by the powerful and full of fire prayers of saints.

The blessed Holy Spirit is really working in our nation. A few weeks ago one pastor went to an intercession meeting in Panebezys. The Holy Spirit touched and grabbed him so mightily that he fell into deep repentance for himself and for all pastors in Lithuania.  After the meeting he said that he has never before experienced such a deep feeling of the Holy Spirit being with him.

On Sunday pastors of Pentecostal churches had a prayer meeting and again the Holy Spirit has touched them very mightily and led all of them into a deep repentance for their long spiritual sleep. So, IT has begun!”

 DROUGHT HIT MALAWI

The drought that hit Malawi this year resulted into a drastic decline in the annual production of Malawi’s main staple food crop, maize by twenty five percent that is really insufficient to feed the country’s ten million people for the rest of the year. This is as a result of the climatic change this year where the onset of the last rain season was late and the rain stopped earlier than the expected time consequently resulting in poor yield in all crop production which is already leading to severe starvation in the country and a very long dry season of eight months this year. The price of beans and maize have risen by one third of last year’s prices; a bag of maize/corn that cost $ 9 last year costs $ 12 today.  Generally all agricultural produce sells more expensive than last year.

The government has been lobbying for food aid from the United Nation World Food Programme to supply the population with food aid for the remaining season whereas the opposition parties to the government of President Dr. Bingu wa Mutharika are arguing that the president should declare the food shortage as a natural disaster to draw more attention from the international community.

The ministry has embarked on deep intercession to seek the Lord’s intervention in this crisis which man alone can never overcome except through the Almighty’s intervention.  The politicians who are looking to the international community for aid are using man’s ways.  We are believing for God alone to deliver Malawi for the future crops so that we are not reliant on the international community.

So beloved friends and partners may you join in prayer together with your fellow brethren in Malawi for God’ to intervene in this catastrophe.

 REPORT FROM MOCAMBIQUE

Report from Jim and Eileen Kirt.

“We have seen such growth in the lives of the rural pastors, especially the pastors that have been attending our “Bush Bible School.”  Many of them are coming into a new relationship with the Lord and getting serious about the work of God in their home churches and then having a desire to go to new areas and preach the Gospel.

These are some of the testimonies of the pastors who have been used by God in their areas to heal the sick, cast out evil spirits, lead people to the knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ.  Most of these pastors have also opened new branches within the past year as well.

Pastor Pualo of Megaza testified that he is seeing church growth in his branch because he has been teaching the lessons he learned in the school.  People are amazed at the teachings and members of other churches are joining him because of the sound Bible teaching.  Of course with this increase has come persecution from the local pastors who see his church growing and are jealous or are jealous because they have lost members to his church.  They are busy spreading false rumors and trying to bring division within the community.  Last weekend he returned home to preach and the local secretary of the courts heard the message about the coming judgment  and was convicted.  He came forward acknowledging his sin and repented.  This is a real blessing to the community when a government official sees that his ways are corrupt and comes to God.

Pastor Malfoi (a new member of the Bible School),  returned home after our last session of teaching to teach it to his own congregation.  The leaders, who had despised him in the past were now amazed at the teachings he had brought home.  They are his biggest supporters now, encouraging him to return to the mission to learn more.  He traveled to new areas preaching wherever there were open doors and found a local Chief who was touched by his messages and who insisted that he return to stay and teach him and his people.  The people complained that their local pastors were charging them money to baptize and perform other ministry duties.

We know that you are not like them, please come back and preach to us.’

Pastor Caminho of Bom Fica branch is a humble man who has been seriously undertaking the work of God in his area.  He has opened new branches there and God has used him to reach the Jehovah Witnesses in the area.  Many have come to hear him teach, asking questions and disputing but many have come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  One woman who had been laboring to deliver her child had visited the hospital and the local witchdoctor and then asked Pastor Caminho to come and pray for her.  She delivered a healthy boy within an hour and said ‘I ma joining your church because I see God is with you.’  When a white missionary visited the area and gathered the local pastors he was amazed at the answers given by Pastor Caminho.  ‘Who are you with and where did you learn these things?  I want you to come with me to the city.’  Pastor Caminho told him that he was with Kalibu Ministries and that he had work to do with them and would not go elsewhere.

Pastor Ofumane is another pastor who lives near the city of Quelimane.  He oversees four churches at Nicoadala which is a key town at a major crossroad.  He has experienced a real personal transformation in his own life.  When he joined the ministry some three years ago he was a flamboyant preacher but really had little to say.  Now he is a changed man and when he returns home from the Bible School he spends time in each of the churches teaching the people what he was taught.  Before the elections in November he was approached by the local government to take a political position in his area.  He declined saying that he could not be a politician and an honest pastor at the same time despite the fact that he was giving up the prospect of financial and other benefits.  This testimony really touched the other pastors who saw how serious he was about serving the Lord and not being bought with gold and politics.

When we hear how God is using these men in their areas we rejoice.  Isn’t this what missionary work is all about?  To be able to teach and disciple these leaders so that they in turn can teach and disciple others.  The command of Jesus to go and preach to every creature can only be fulfilled who the nationals are equipped and they join in the work to equip others for the work of the ministry.
